The Safari Doctors Development Goals
Overall Safari Doctors aims to:
- Increase knowledge to enable local health promotion
- Focus on areas which can be fed in at a community level
- Enable prevention of chronic diseases through increased health awareness
Health Ambassadors Goals
There are 30 Safari Doctors Ambassadors across 8 villages in Lamu East (Kiangwe, Bahamisi, Mtangawanda, Shanga, Tchundwa, Faza, Mkokoni and Kiwayu).
The Ambassadors are qualified by their respective communities all aged 25 and under. The program offers a support system through peer-to-peer mentorship and capacity building through monthly trainings on tailored curriculum that includes but is not limited to:
